Q- How long are your lessons?

A - Typically an hour, however 1/2 lessons are good too..

Q- Do I need to buy a new guitar/bass?

A - The best thing to do is to let us look at your instrument to see if there are any defects that a simple set up wont overcome. Most likely the instrument may require new strings, a truss rod/action adjustment and it will play just fine.

Q- I want to buy a new instrument, what do I need to look for?

A - That depends on your playing preference and budget. You would be amazed at the quality of instrument you can get if you know where to look. I see some students spend a lot of money on a guitar when they first start learning. We discorage this because as your skills grow, so will your knowledge of the instrument that best suits your playing style (there are many styles of guitars, bass & drums). Better to get an affordable, but highly playable instrument to get your chops up and then buy that high dollar one later.

Q- What are the equipment requirements to take lessons from you?

A - An instument would be good, however we have rentals available.A tuner (if you play Bass or Guitar), sticks (if you play percussion) and a METRONOME. We do a lot of metronome work and its essential that you have one to practice with by week 2 lessons. We provide you with our own written materials, lesson and backing track CD's as needed.

Q- I can only take lessons on certain days at certain times. What is your availability?

A - We are starting to teach lessons at several different locations due to demand (Homer & Anchor Point is in the works, Seward is being considered) . The sooner you contact us, the better we can slot your for the times you need.

Q- How much are lessons?

A - This depends. We have group rate and individual rates. Additionally, some instrument instruction is more demanding then others, so the prices vary depending on instrument, time and class size. We are not the cheapest in the area but neither are we the most expensive. We are fully integrated into the homeschool programs (Idea, Connections, Raven) and have some scholorship/apprentiship programs available. Please contact us for a quote.
